Keane McDonald supports Darkness Into Light

By Yvonne Kelly • May 5, 2026
Keane McDonald is proud to support Darkness Into Light 2026 , a global movement uniting communities to promote hope, raise awareness, and support mental health and suicide prevention. Founded by Pieta in Dublin in 2009, this powerful initiative has grown to over 150,000 participants worldwide. Across Ireland, events will take place in key locations including Phoenix Park and Dublin City University, reflecting the movement’s strong national roots. Internationally, the event continues to expand, with Australia playing a key role through Pieta’s partnership with headspace. In Sydney, participants will gather at Bondi Beach, alongside events in Perth, Cronulla, Adelaide and Darwin. Taking place at 5:35 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026 , participants walk or run 5km from darkness into dawn—symbolising the journey from despair to hope. Supported by Electric Ireland, Darkness Into Light continues to spark conversation, strengthen communities, and shine a light on mental health. Join us in making a difference.
