Our Client, a major global corporation with offices across all continents, is seeking a lawyer for the Privacy and Technology team in Sydney.
The successful candidate will be the main point of contact for all privacy and technology matters in the APAC region, advising on privacy and technology-related issues and reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide range of privacy and technology-related contracts.
Ensure compliance with privacy laws within the APAC region.
Advise colleagues on a wide range of data protection matters
Negotiate privacy-related documents such as data processing contracts and data protection clauses
Manage projects to completion, mainly focusing on the company’s data protection compliance program
Advise on legal issues and related procedures associated with outsourcing, consulting, licensing, software development, hosting, to include negotiating and drafting of contracts and related documents
Advise on all licensing and commercial matters, strategy and develop relevant forms and guidelines
Advise on data usage within technology solutions, to include personal data and the issues that may arise with hosting, security and access
Work with the IT team to address technology and data security concerns in client and vendor contracts, engagement processes, guidelines on usage and risk
Qualified lawyer with 4-8 years’ PAE reviewing, drafting and negotiating legal contracts
Sound knowledge of privacy law including an understanding GDPR. More detailed knowledge of local privacy laws
Knowledge of IP law and solid experience with software licensing, SaaS, the cloud, software development, API usage, and other IT agreements
Experienced at drafting complex commercial and technology contracts
Strong legal drafting and negotiation skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
