Job Title: In-house Construction Lawyer, Sydney

Our client is a successful global construction company with well-established offices in Australia.

The group delivers large and complex building, oil and gas, railway, materials handling, marine and civil infrastructure projects and a range of support services to clients across multiple sectors.

The Role

They would like to recruit an in-house Construction Lawyer, as a result of business growth.

Reporting to the Head of Legal, your role will involve providing strategic advice to business units and senior management on significant legal issues and representing the company’s interests on large scale bids and their associated contracts (ECIs, MCCs, EPC/EPCMs, D&C, alliance contracts, JVs and PPP’s) across the rail, Defence, oil and gas, industrial and transport sectors.

This role offers ownership of the legal service for significant projects (commensurate with your level of experience).

You will be asked to address both the upstream and downstream contractual arrangements and to support all legal aspects of the project from EOI through to contract close and contract administration.

There will also be opportunities in broader business priorities including regulatory compliance.

Some experience and capability in contractual disputes, mediation, arbitration, litigation and other disputes work will be favourably considered.
