Job Title: In-house Construction Disputes Lawyer, Sydney

Our client is a global construction company with dedicated and established offices in Australia.

The organisation delivers some of the nation’s largest and most complex infrastructure projects across all areas and support services to clients in the resources, transport, Defence, health, commercial and industrial sectors.

The legal team is a well-established team of lawyers servicing the whole of South-East Asia.

 

The Role

Due to its growing business, the company is looking to recruit a Disputes Lawyer to join its in-house legal team.

Reporting to the Head of Legal, your role will involve working with the business and external counsel to prepare and to defend claims and represent the company in a range of dispute processes including contractual disputes, adjudications, expert determinations, mediation, arbitration and litigation.

This role offers ownership of the legal service for significant disputes and compensated at your level of experience.

You will be asked to address both the internal management and preparation of disputes as well as being responsible for the management of external counsel and experts for the entirety of the dispute process.

There will also be opportunities in broader business priorities and specialist areas of law depending upon your interest.

Some experience and capability in drafting, reviewing and advising on project documentation, tender preparation and other front-end work will be favourably considered.
